VOV.VN - The Vietnam national football team will receive great support from local football fans when they play Australia at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi at 7 p.m. on September 7 as part of the final round of World Cup qualifiers, despite the game being played behind closed doors.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the fixture against Australia is taking place without fans. Locals quickly prepare national flags around the stadium ahead of the match in order to offer encouragement to members of the national squad.

Supporters spend plenty of time on making banners to encourage the team in the historical World Cup qualifiers.

Fans paint words on their banners to support the team.

The games mark the first time that Vietnam has made it through to the final round of Asian qualifiers for FIFA World Cup.

Local fans prepare a large-size national flag as a special gift to the national squad.

A banner shows fans always standing beside the national team’s footballers, despite the match being held behind closed doors.
