After three days filled with activities, the UN Vesak 2019 wrapped up on May 14 in Ha Nam. The success of the event has helped improve Vietnamese Buddhism in terms of its international integration.

Besides, the event was also a golden opportunity for Vietnam to promote spiritual tourism.

Tam Chuc is known as “Ha Long Bay” on land, and many visitors have chosen to make a pilgrimage here. The site is recognised as a key tourism area.

From May 12-14, Tam Chuc pagoda held several events which drew the participation of more than 500 delegations and individuals, and more than 1,600 international delegates from 112 countries and territories and 20,000 Buddhist followers as well as Vietnamese nationals.

Spiritual tourism has emerged as the latest trend of the world’s tourism, and Vietnam has potential in the sector. After the UN Day of Vesak, international guests also had a chance to visit other spiritual tourism sites such as Trang An, BaiDinh, Yen Tu and Sapas’ Fansipan.
