Sekong, Quang Nam complete border marker planting
(VOV) - The Steering Committee on Border Marker Planting of Sekong and Quang Nam provinces convened their 10th session on May 28, in Tam Ky city, to review the planting and reinforcement of Vietnam-Laos land border markers in the 2008-2014 period.
The two localities have planted 60 border markers so far, and handed over to border safeguard forces, which have their fulfilled tasks of ensuring security and social order at border areas.
The planting and reinforcing the Vietnam-Laos land border will contribute to strengthening national defence, ensuring political stability and spurring socio-economic development of border localities, as well as consolidating friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
