Many voters expressed their wishes that the National Assembly and the Government would continue to have stronger investment policies to develop agricultural and rural areas in order to accelerate the restructuring of animal husbandry and crop cultivation and develop large-scale production.
They also expected that investment would be increased in the development of transport, and irrigation projects and cultural centres for villages and communes. In addition, the policies on reduction and exemption of tax on the use of agricultural land for farmers would continuously be implemented.
The voters requested Hai Phong city provide detailed planning on developing rural areas, support communes to complete land-use planning, develop infrastructure and attract talented people to work in the locality.
Regarding voters’ opinions, PM Dung stressed that building new rural areas is the criteria for successfully implementing rural industrialisation and modernisation, an important content in the country’s rapid and sustainable development.
He said to reach the target of about 20 percent of communes fulfilling the construction of new rural areas by 2015, the Government is considering the roadmap and resources required to assist localities, including Hai Phong, to make the shift in the husbandry and cultivation structure, apply modern technologies to raise output, quality and effectiveness of agricultural production, as well as boost investment in socio-economic infrastructure, especially transport, electricity, health care, schools and cultural houses.
The Government is appraising and adjusting policies for communal level and local people-elected officials, vocational training and job generation for labourers in rural areas, PM Dung said.
