Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte arrived at Noi Bai International Airport on the afternoon of September 28, starting a two-day visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Tran Dai Quang.

Mr Duterte met the Filipino Community in Vietnam on the evening of September 28.

An official welcome ceremony for the Philippines President took place at the Presidential Place in Hanoi on the morning of September 29.

State President Tran Dai Quang and President Duterte inspected the guard of honour.

The two presidents held talks immediately after the welcome ceremony.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received President Duterte.

Mr Duterte underscored that the Philippines attaches much importance to strengthening cooperation ties with Vietnam in all fields.

The Philippines President met Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
