The Hung Kings Commemoration Day, Hung Kings Temple Festival, and the 2026 Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week take place from April 17 to 26 (the 1st to the 10th days of the third lunar month) at the Hung Kings Temple Historical Complex and various locations across Phu Tho province.

Despite the sweltering heat, crowds stream to the Hung Kings Temple Historical Complex from early morning, expressing their reverence and the Vietnamese tradition of remembering one’s roots.

Visitors start their pilgrimage at the base of Nghia Linh Mountain and continue upward to Ha Temple, Trung Temple, and Thuong Temple.

At the Hung Vuong Museum, an exhibition showcasing materials on the Hung Kings worship belief and notable votive offerings also draws strong interest from visitors.

Students from Hung Vuong University vividly reenact bronze drum performances, the traditional “dam Duong” ritual, and folk music at the festival.

The event also drew many children to take part and experience the atmosphere.

Visitors and locals alike can pause along the routes to sample a wide range of food stalls serving diverse local specialties.

At the cultural camp, many visitors gather to explore and take in the displays representing their hometowns.

Visitors are also invited to take part in recreational activities, including duck boat rowing.

The cultural camp in Muong Vang drew visitors to join in and experience traditional Muong dances.

The 360-degree photobooth video experience draws many visitors, particularly young people. Nguyen Khanh Huyen, a student at Phu Tho College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology, says: “It is a fun and interesting activity, so I join my friends to capture memorable moments from our 2026 visit to Hung Kings Temple.”
