Vietnamese footballers depart from Noi Bai International Airport at 6 a.m. on March 19. Head coach Troussier and his players will have two more training sessions in Indonesia before facing the host team on March 21.

This marks the second time goalkeeper Nguyen Filip has been called up to the Vietnamese national team.

On March 18, coach Troussier announced a list of 28 players for the two upcoming matches against Indonesia in the second round of qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Young striker Dinh Bac, 20, is among the players travelling with the team for the away match in Indonesia.

Five veteran players are not included in the list due to injuries, including Do Duy Manh, Giap Tuan Duong, Truong Tien Anh, Nguyen Hai Long, and Nguyen Cong Phuong.

Midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc, who won the Vietnam Golden Ball 2023, makes the list.

Coach Troussier and his players will return home to prepare for the second leg which will be played on March 26 at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.

Vietnam are now placed in second position in Group F with three points after defeating the Philippines 2-0 in the away game and losing 1-0 to Iraq at home in November last year. Indonesia only have one point like the Philippines but are at the bottom of the group due to goal difference.
