From early morning on April 6, long lines of visitors have formed, making their way up to the Upper Temple, part of the relic complex, where the ancestors are worshipped. The official commemoration day falls on April 7 this year.

With favourable weather, groups of people from all regions of the country are making the pilgrimage to Viet Tri city dubbed the ancestral land.

This year the Hung Kings Temple relic complex is not organizing festive activities, instead it is only welcoming visitors for ceremonial worship.

Local authorities have worked out plans to ensure security, traffic flows, and environmental sanitation during the festival. Guidance points, mobile medical stations, and volunteer youth teams are stationed throughout the area to assist visitors, with special attention given to the elderly and children.

Relevant forces are working at full capacity, setting up barricades and using loudspeakers to broadcast messages to ensure safety and order throughout the area.

Many families prepare offerings from their hometowns, traveling hundreds of kilometers with the heartfelt wish to offer incense to the national ancestors.

For the Vietnamese people, the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day is not only a time to honour the founders of the nation, but also a sacred symbol of national unity and the moral tradition of “remembering the source while drinking the water.”

From the entrance gate into the relic complex, the crowd is packed tightly, inching forward step by step to reach the ceremonial area.

Since the festival falls during the holiday period, the number of visitors to the Hung Kings’ Temple Relic Complex has increased considerably. Services catering to tourists around the historical site are operating at full capacity.

Some local residents are taking the opportunity to rent out mats for resting in grassy areas at the foot of the mountain and along the pathway to the temple.

Members of the Phu Tho Provincial Youth Union have volunteered to collect trash and assist visitors at the Hung Kings Temple Relic Complex.

As of around noon on April 6, the stream of pilgrims to the Hung Kings’ Temple Relic Complex showed no signs of slowing.

The number of visitors is expected to increase even more on the official day of commemoration that is April 7 – the 10th day of the third lunar month.

Organizers have advised participants to plan their visits accordingly, follow the guidance of security personnel, and help maintain cleanliness and respectful conduct at the sacred site.
