Vietnam International Fashion Week 2026 opens in HCM City
VOV.VN - Vietnam International Fashion Week Spring Summer 2026 opened in Ho Chi Minh City on June 18, marking its 21st edition under the theme “Pure Fashion In Motion.”
The four-day event brings together Vietnamese and international designers and fashion brands, reaffirming its role as a platform that connects different generations of designers while encouraging innovation and creative exchange within Vietnam’s fashion industry.
The opening show was presented by designer Tom Trandt, a graduate of Parsons The New School for Design in New York.
His collection, titled “Nguồn” (Source), drew inspiration from the fundamental nature of water and the imagery of flowing currents. Through architectural silhouettes, bold cuts and a colour palette dominated by shades of blue and white, the collection explored the idea of unlocking creative energy and embracing new beginnings.
The cohesive visual language created a sense of movement throughout the runway presentation, reflecting the event's overarching theme.
Lai Mai Hoa, winner of Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2025, opened the show as the first face.
Then singer Toc Tien emerged as one of the highlights of the evening as the vedette of the collection. She appeared in a gradient blue design featuring layered ruffle details and delivered a live performance while walking the runway. Her performance included a mashup of several songs, creating a dynamic fusion of fashion and music during the opening night.
The opening evening also featured collections by Italian designer Angelo Cruciani, Vietnamese designer Adrian Anh Tuan and fashion label Nobody Knows, founded by Kelbin Lei.
According to Trang Le, president of Vietnam International Fashion Week, the event is more than a showcase of new collections. She described it as a journey driven by passion, creativity and the ambition to further elevate Vietnamese fashion on the global stage.
Founded in 2014, Vietnam International Fashion Week has grown into the country’s largest annual fashion event and a leading platform for showcasing Vietnamese fashion talent. Now in its 21st season, the show brings together 15 domestic and international designers and brands, while advancing its “go global” strategy through initiatives aimed at strengthening connections between Vietnam’s fashion industry and international markets.
