VOV.VN - The eighth Wallonie-Bruxelles Film Festival will run from November 6 to 12 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, featuring five romantic films that highlight Europe’s diverse cultural perspectives.

The festival opens with Jeunes mères (Young Mothers) by French-Belgian filmmakers Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne. The film follows five teenage mothers living in a shelter as they face life’s challenges and strive to build a better future. It won the Best Screenplay award at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

The festival will also feature the animated film Flow, which won the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature. Directed by Gints Zilbalodis, the Latvian production tells the story of a cat searching for safety after a flood.

Other selections include La Danse des renards (Wild Foxes), a 2025 French-language film by Valéry Carnoy; La Nuit se traîne (Night Call), a 2024 action thriller directed by Michiel Blanchart; and L’Intérêt d’Adam (Adam’s Sake), a 2025 French-Belgian drama written and directed by Laura Wandel. Together, these films offer a rich and varied range of themes for festival audiences.

Organized annually by the Wallonie–Bruxelles delegation to Vietnam, the festival aims to introduce local audiences to the culture, society, landscapes, and people of Belgium, with a special focus on the Wallonie–Bruxelles region.

Screenings will take place at the National Cinema Centre in Hanoi from November 6 to 10, and at DCINE Ben Thanh Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City from November 8 to 12.
