The central Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee has approved a development project to turn Chu Lai airport into an international airport.
Under the project implemented by the Airport Design and Construction Consultancy Company, Chu Lai airport will be rebuilt and installed with modern facilities from now to 2025 to become an international airport, capable of transporting 4 million passengers and five million tonnes of cargo per year.
In the 2006-2010 period, the focus will be on upgrading its runway and installing a new lighting system to ensure operations of Boeing 767 or Airbus 320 airplanes.
